สืบเนื่องจากที่ธนาคารไทยพาณิชย์ จำกัด (มหาชน) ได้ร่วมมือกับบริษัท ปตท.สำรวจและผลิตปิโตรเลียม จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ ปตท.สผ. ตั้งแต่กลางปี 2561 ในการศึกษาและพัฒนาระบบการโอนเงินระหว่างประเทศในรูปแบบ B2B โดยนำเทคโนโลยี Blockchain มาใช้ โดยในต้นปีที่ผ่านมาได้มีการทำ Live Pilot สำหรับการโอนเงินต่างประเทศ ซึ่งพบว่าสามารถโอนเงินเข้าบัญชีปลายทางได้ในเวลาน้อยกว่า 1 นาที เมื่อเทียบกับวิธีการโอนเงินแบบเดิมที่ใช้เวลา 1 ถึง 2 วัน

       นายวศิน ไสยวรรณ รองผู้จัดการใหญ่อาวุโส ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร กลุ่มธุรกิจ Wholesale ธนาคารไทยพาณิชย์ กล่าวว่า “นี่คือความสำเร็จครั้งสำคัญในการยกระดับมาตรฐานการให้บริการทางการเงินระหว่างประเทศสำหรับลูกค้าองค์กรขนาดใหญ่บนเทคโนโลยี Blockchain เป็นครั้งแรก ซึ่งสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความมุ่งมั่นของธนาคารไทยพาณิชย์ในการนำเทคโนโลยีและนวัตกรรมใหม่ๆ เพื่อก้าวเข้าสู่เปลี่ยนแปลงให้แก่ธุรกิจในยุคดิจิทัลอย่างแท้จริง ผมขอขอบพระคุณสำหรับความไว้วางใจที่ ปตท.สผ. ที่ได้เลือกธนาคารไทยพาณิชย์ในความร่วมมือครั้งนี้ และพร้อมจะเดินหน้าพัฒนาบริการดังกล่าวเพื่อขยายผลต่อไป ให้สามารถใช้บริการได้อย่างสมบูรณ์ มีประสิทธิภาพ รวดเร็ว และขยายเครือข่ายของบริการให้ครอบคลุมกลุ่มประเทศ CLMV รวมถึงประเทศในแถบเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ภายในปี 2562 ซึ่งจะเป็นก้าวที่สำคัญอีกก้าวหนึ่ง ในการต่อยอดธุรกิจการโอนเงินระหว่างประเทศ”

        นายสัมฤทธิ์ สำเนียง รองกรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ กลุ่มงานการเงินและการบัญชี ปตท.สผ. กล่าวว่า “ปตท.สผ. จะร่วมกับธนาคารไทยพาณิชย์เดินหน้าพัฒนา Blockchain อย่างต่อเนื่อง เพื่อให้สามารถนำระบบการโอนเงินต่างประเทศผ่านเทคโนโลยีนี้มาใช้กับธุรกรรมทางการเงินต่าง ๆ เพื่อเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขัน และสามารถดำเนินธุรกิจในโลกดิจิตอลได้มีอย่างประสิทธิภาพ และรวดเร็วมากยิ่งขึ้น”

       การร่วมมือระหว่างธนาคารไทยพาณิชย์และ ปตท.สผ. ในครั้งนี้ ถือเป็นการยกระดับการโอนเงินข้ามประเทศแบบ Real Time และถือเป็นก้าวสำคัญในการเข้าสู่การเงินยุคใหม่อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพต่อไป

PTTEP-SCB announce success of Live Pilot Payment on Blockchain

    In a bid to optimize operational efficiency, SCB and PTTEP have collaborated since mid-2018 on a research and development effort to adopt Blockchain technology for cross-border B2B payment. Earlier this year, the project was able to make pilot payments on Blockchain, with payments reaching destinations within one minute, compared to one to two days with conventional methods.

       Speaking of the success, Siam Commercial Bank SEVP & Chief Wholesale Banking Officer Mr. Wasin Saiyawan said that, “The project marks a major success in bringing a new international payment service standard for corporate customers using Blockchain technology. The achievement reflects SCB’s commitment to harness the use of new technologies and innovations to transform business in the digital era. We would like to convey our appreciation to PTTEX for choosing SCB as a partner for this collaboration. We are now ready to take the success of this service forward to set a new norm for the industry, enabling our customers to enjoy efficient and speedy service. The service will be implemented in all CLMV and southeast Asian countries by this year, which will serve as a major milestone in the development of cross-border payment services.”

      PTTEX Finance and Accounting Group Executive Vice President Mr. Sumrid Sumneing said that, “PTTEX will work closely with SCB to continue using Blockchain technology for other financial transactions to optimize its digital competitiveness effectively and quickly.”

      This collaboration between SCB and PTTEX sets a new standard for real-time cross border payment, a major step in the evolution of a new financial industry.
